Geode Knitting Pattern

This is attempts number two and three at a knitted geode. I would love to spend more time on these, making wonkier shapes, more colour options, just plain bigger versions. At the moment I’d be quite happy to spend the entire year knitting rocks, I’m not sure that the website would keep getting hits if I did though…

This is really cool!

nineprotons and xparrot this made me think of you guys. <3

That is so cool.

Fellow knitters/crocheters/quilters!

I’ve recently been looking into ways to help people with my crochet skills. Part of it is desire to give to people and also to not clutter up my house with thousands of projects.

Little Warriors is a national organization committed to the awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. They are currently in the process of opening a shelter which will house children and their families as they heal and survive. It is a safe and secure place where these children can feel safe.

As part of the opening of the shelter, they are seeking out individuals who are willing to donate handmade blankets (with hand written notes!) so that each child who comes to the shelter can be handed a blanket made just for them. They are hoping to have 200 blankets for the opening of the shelter later this year as well as 600 others for subsequent years to come.

My goal is to make at least one blanket (if not more) and I thought I’d share the organization for anyone else who might be interested.

If you can’t crochet/knit/quilt/etc. and still want to help out, yarn donations can go along way to help finishing blankets which can be quite time/money consuming. Just shoot me a message and I’ll make the blanket in your name with a letter from you :)
